WH & JM Leith Engineering was registered as manufacturers of agricultural machinery and general repairs in 1980 but Leith Engineering had its origins decades earlier.

Wally Leith first commenced building and selling side trailers in 1960, and the “drop spreader” in 1963. The drop spreader was designed and manufactured to facilitate the fast and effective distribution of soil improver gypsum.

By the mid-1970s, Leith Engineering had grown in size to start employing local staff. As the business grew, so did the number and type of products that were being developed and manufactured. The old drop spreader was updated to a trailing type in several different sizes with two differing types of drives – hydraulic or “power take off” (PTO). Many other smaller items were manufactured when requested by clients, and a dedicated maintenance and farm machinery repair service was established.

The Leith range of comb trailers has become an integral part of our business and the designs are constantly reviewed and upgraded to ensure they suit the ever-changing needs of the Australian farmer and contractor alike. Our comb trailers, grain conveyors, gypsum spreaders and rotary mowers are sold across Australia.

At Leith Engineering, we have always strived to manufacture quality products that suit each individual customer and we are proud that what is designed and built in our factory carries the Leith name.
